The Trustees fulfill the functions of the Board of Trustees and hold all properties in trust, as defined by The Manual, and are required to meet the legal obligations of Trustees as defined in Ontario statutes and regulations. Trustees are elected by the congregation for a five year term; membership is staggered so that one member is re-elected or a new member elected each year at the annual meeting. The Trustees are responsible for the assets of the Church, oversee arranging adequate insurance policies and any claims which may arise, receive and manage bequests and special gifts, investment of any reserves or designated funds, sign any contracts entered into by the Church and liaise with the Western Ontario Waterways Regional Council with respect to property issues requiring Regional Council oversight. The Trustees normally report through the Administration Committee but may report directly to Kincardine United Church Council as required.
